The economic and cultural centre of Albania has had a very animated past, which still today shows up in the city landscape. Strolling through Tirana you notice both oriental and Italian influences. The country’s most important museums are also in the capital: the History Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Art Gallery. The Great Park is a veritable oasis of cafés and restaurants. Finding your way to and from the airport

Car:

The airport can only be reached via a small road in the town of Peza. Another access road is currently being built. To get to Tirana from Peza, take the road to Vora and then the motorway to the capital.

Bus:

Albtransport operates buses between the airport and Tirana. They leave from the Albanian Airlines office.

Taxi:

There is a taxi rank in front of the airport. Journey time to Tirana is around 45 minutes.

Hire cars:

There are centrally-located Sixt and Avis rental locations at all Germanwings destinations. Reserve a car here and get great bargains.

At the airport

Tirana International Airport is around 25 km north-west of the city.

Parking:

There is a visitors' car park directly in front of the entrance to the airport grounds.

Check-In:

The check-in desks are in Terminal 1.
