The city of Skopje, founded by the Romans has around 650,000 inhabitants and lies on the river Vardar and at the edge of the Vodno mountain. This vibrant town is the birthplace of Mother Teresa and also the seat of a Macedonian orthodox and a catholic bishop. The capital of Macedonia contains numerous sights such as the Ottoman stone bridge to the old town.
